The first thing that we will do is prepare our paper. We need an A2 base in cream cardstock. So, to make the base cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock in the middle at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side. Then take one of those pieces and place on a paper scoring board and score in the middle on the long edge at 4-1/4″. Now, you have a base!
For the other cuts you’ll need:
Lay the cloud stencil on top of the cream card panel near the top of the panel and brush on Danube blue ink. Rotate the stencil and repeat down the card.
With the watercolor pencil, on the mixed media paper draw a hillside on the diagonal from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Fill in the left portion drawing wavy lines of brown, with more contrast on the top of the hill. Brush with the water brush.
Rub some dark brown Distress Crayon on a palette and squeeze some water into the palette and flick it onto the hillside. Let dry. Define edge of hill if needed.
Cut the hillside panel and the cloud panel to 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ (use A2 die set). Cut the inverted circles die from the green cardstock (place in the middle of the cardstock).
Cut along the hillside line. Place the hillside onto the cloud panel. Trace along the hillside with the stylus.
In bamboo leaves ink stamp the Mini Hen and Chicks Mama stamp along the embossed line, about four times. In pear tart ink stamp the Mini Frilly Succulent near the first stamping. Using pistachio stamp the Mini Wonky Succulent along the same line and fill in with the green inks of your choice using the Tiny succulent stamps.
Stamp the stamps and green inks of your choice, stamp the succulents on the hillside. I used the sweet plum ink with one of the Tiny succulents to add a pop of color.
On the cream cardstock, stamp the sentiment in nocturne ink. Stamp the Mini Hens and Chicks Mama stamp at the north, south, east, and west points in bamboo leaves followed by the Tiny Hen and Chicks Baby (on either side of the first stamping) in pear tart ink. Stamp the Mini Wonky Succulent in pistachio ink. Stamp the Tiny Star Succulent in sweet plum ink. Color in every other line on the “Happy.” Cut out following the shape of the succulents. Glue to the inverted circle die.
Glue the hillside panel onto the cloud panel, then glue that to the green panel (don’t mind the hole in the middle). Glue to the card base. Now, attach foam tape to the back of the sentiment and adhere it to the center of the card.
For the envelope, stamp around the edge of the front bottom using various green inks and of course, that sweet plum ink!
