International Correspondence Writing Month

Are you ready for the International Correspondence Writing Month (InCoWriMo) challenge to hand-write and mail or deliver one letter, card, note or postcard every day during the month of February? Because we are card makers, we hope you'll join us here at Rubber Stamp Tapestry and not only send a correspondence a day but send it on a handmade card to boot! What a fabulous event for using up some of our stash of cards! The official InCoWriMo website has all the information you need to get started, stay inspired, and connect with others around the world.

Here's Three Steps to Join Us for InCoWriMo

1. Raise a pen and recite the InCoWriMo Pledge aloud:

I, [insert your name], clearly see the benefits of InCoWriMo participation, not only to me personally, but also to those who will receive my correspondence. InCoWriMo is a beneficial endeavor and worthy of my full attention. I hereby pledge to hand-write and mail/deliver one letter, card, note or postcard every day during the month of February. February 1-28 Make a Card with Us Each Day.

2. February 1-28 Send a Letter, (Preferably in a Handmade Card) Every Day

During the entire month of February, we will send a letter to a friend, one of our family members, or even a stranger. Have no idea who to write to? Anyone would love a handwritten note in a handmade card, but if you feel you just don't know anyone you can send your cards to the folks over at InCoWriMo have you covered with their Address Exchange 2019. In addition, here is a list of groups who are already devoted to organizing writing campaigns:

  • More Love Letters - They stock their website each month with new love letter requests. At the end of each month, letters are bundled and delivered.
  • Love for the Elderly - Write a letter to an elderly person, and Love for the Elderly will deliver it to a senior in need of a warm thought, expression of caring, and connection.
  • Sunshine Snail Mail - Sunshine Snail Mail – Send cards to kids (and sometimes adults), who could use a smile. Most are battling a life-threatening illness, or have suffered great loss.
  • From the Heart - This community publishes addresses directly on their Facebook page so you can mail letters directly to those in need.

3. Share Your Experience
We would love to hear from you about your InCoWriMo experience. How did you celebrate? Did you make and send letters by yourself, or did you do it with friends? Did you get feedback from your recipients? Did you make any new friends? How did it feel to share via a letter? Did you discover something you did not know before? Let us know at, or share on our Facebook page.
