Paper Scoring Board
The first thing that we will do is prepare our paper. We need an A2 base in cream cardstock. So, to make the base cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock in the middle at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side. Then take one of those pieces and place on a paper scoring board and score in the middle on the long edge at 4-1/4″. Now, you have a base!
For the other cuts you’ll need:
Take the 2nd and 3rd largest dies from the A2 Matting set and tape them together on the non-cutting side, making sure they are evenly spaced. Cut 2 pieces of cream cardstock large enough to use with this die and cut 2 frames at a time. Do this again to have 4 frames. Glue all 4 frames together.
Place the frames in an embossing folder. You may have to remove one of the cutting platforms because the material is so thick. Run through the Big Shot.
Using a foam blending brush, apply VersaMark all over the embossed frame. Sprinkle embossing powder on the frame and then remove a bit here and there with a brush to give it a distressed, antiqued look. Melt the powder using a heat tool.
Place the frame on a piece of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ cream cardstock. Place a circle die in the center of the frame and trace the inside of the circle. Remove the frame.
Stamp the Jumbo Old Cherry Branch in Vintage Photo ink, following around the line you drew. Stamp again in Gathered Twigs ink to ground the wreath. Stamp the Tiny Leaf Colubrina in Peeled paint ink. Stamp the Tiny Blossom Cherry Single in Fired Brick ink and the Tiny Flowers Cherry Group in Aged Mahogany ink.
Mount the sentiment stamp on an acrylic block and ink up just the word, “JOY” and apply VersaMark ink. Rub the center of the wreath with an anti-static bag and stamp the “JOY,” in the middle of the wreath. Sprinkle with embossing powder and melt with a heat tool.
Ink the other part of the sentiment, “To the World,” in Fired Brick ink and apply purple tape to the word, “JOY” to mask it. Stamp it under the wreath.
Using the make-up brush and working from the outside in, brush Vintage Photo ink around the perimeter of the card.
Apply tape to the back of the frame, flip it with the good side down and mark it on the top left, bottom left and bottom right. Remove the tape backing and using the marks you made adhere it to the card base.
Apply tape to the back side of the card, remove the tape backing and adhere to the cream card base.
For a finishing touch apply Nuvo Drops throughout the wreath.
For the envelope, decorate a small circle die using the same stamps and inks used on the card. Apply Scor-Tape to the top half of the die and a strip to the lower half. Remove the two top tape backing and adhere that to the center of the flap, leaving half the die hanging down. When you’re ready to send the card you can remove that last tape backing and seal the envelope.
