Instructions

The first thing that we will do is prepare our paper. We need an A2 base
in white cardstock. So, to make the base cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of
cardstock in the middle at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side. Then take
one of those pieces and place on a paper scoring board and score in the
middle on the long edge at 4-1/4″. Now, you have a base!

Take the 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of cardstock and cut it in half, now you have an A2 card panel.

On that card panel measure 2-1/4″ up from the bottom. This is your horizon line where you’ll stamp. Stamp the three poppy stamps across horizontally in both colors of red ink, no more than three flowers deep. Stamp a few flowers in the foreground and off the side of the card.

Draw in the stems of the poppies in the foreground, down and off the card with a green colored pencil. Color in the background in green from the middle of the poppies all the way down the card. Create some foliage sprigs with the green colored pencil and a chartreuse colored pencil and give some of the poppies on the lower section of the horizon some short stems, to create the look that the stems disappear into the mass of green foliage.

Using a makeup brush, blend on blue ink for the sky, working from the outside of the card in.

Mount the stamps on the acrylic block and ink with the blue ink and stamp in the sky area.

For the envelope, stamp a grouping of poppies in the center of the flap and the sentiment, “Sending You Happy Mail.”
