The first thing that we will do is prepare our paper. We need an A2 base
in cream cardstock. So, to make the base cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of
cardstock in the middle at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side. Then take
one of those pieces and place on a paper scoring board and score in the
middle on the long edge at 4-1/4″. Now, you have a base!

Now, the additional pieces of cardstock you’ll need are:

  • Cardstock – White 5-1/4 x 4″ (2)
  • Cardstock – Gold 5-1/2 x 4-1/4″
Apply Distress Oxide ink to the Gelli plate, spritz with a bit of water and lay the leaves on the plate, removing and replacing until you have a pattern you like. Lay one of the sheets of white cardstock on the plate, smooth and remove. Set aside to dry.
After it’s dry, place the smaller of 2 nested oval dies in the center and cut.
Place the two dies together with a bit of washi tape and run through the die cutting machine on a scrap of white cardstock to make the frame border.
Glue the frame to the oval die cutout in the background paper. Place the background paper and the other sheet of white cardstock together and trace the oval.
Stamp the poppies inside the oval in various shades of red keeping in mind not to stamp too low because the sentiment will cover the lower part of the oval.
Draw the flower stems with a green watercolor pencil.
With a water brush, move the ink in the flowers and trace the stems to soften the green.
On a scrap piece of cream cardstock, rub anti-static powder. Ink the sentiment in VersaMark and stamp on the scrap. Sprinkle with embossing powder, replace the excess and with your heat tool, melt the embossing powder on the card.
Cut out the sentiment and apply 3D tape if you wish.
Glue the background paper to the stamped panel. Wrap a ribbon around the lower part of the card and tape of the backside. Create a faux bow by looping a small piece of ribbon, then adding another small piece to the center and hot gluing it all together.
Glue the panel to the gold cardstock and then glue that to the card base.
