Instructions
We will cut three pieces of paper. Cut the tan base to an A2 size – 8 1/2″ tall by 5 1/2″ wide score and fold at 4 1/4.” Cut a piece of green card stock to 5 1/2″ tall by 4 1/4″ wide and dry emboss. Cut a piece of white card stock to 3 1/2″ tall by 2 1/2″ wide.
Wrap ribbon around fold edge of embossed green card stock and tape to back side. Glue to tan card base.
On a piece of kraft card stock stamp, “Friendship” in cocoa ink. Trace with brown pencil if needed. Fussy cut and glue to ribbon(s), which stick out a bit longer than the sentiment.
On the white card stock stamp the Mini Desert Tortoise in cocoa. Create a mask for that tortoise and place it. Stamp the Tiny Desert Tortoise in cocoa, overlapping the first. Stamp the Tiny Tortoise behind the first group. Stamp the Tiny Bird in gray flannel. Stamp the Mini Aloe in olive. Create a mask for the Aloe and continue to stamp the it in olive and sage. Stamp the Tiny Succulents in desert sand. Color in the Aloe with a green watercolor pencil.
Draw the plateau on a Post-it Note and cut away to leave the plateau only, save the other piece for later masking. Place it toward the top of the card where you want to create the plateau. Create the sky by brushing with dandelion ink, morocco and tangelo. Remove the mask. Take the other piece left from the plateau drawing and place it to match and mask the sky. Brush with desert sand throughout the plateau area and stamped area. With the brown watercolor pencil add shadow to the animals and plateau, fill in any parts of the tortoises you wish.
With small pieces of ribbon, fold and tape to corners of stamped card. Glue this to green card base. Glue the sentiment to the green card base. And that’s it!
