The first thing that we will do is prepare our paper. We need an A2 base
in brown cardstock. So, to make the base cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of
cardstock in the middle at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side. Then take
one of those pieces and place on a paper scoring board and score in the
middle on the long edge at 4-1/4″. Now, you have a base!
For the other cuts you’ll need:
- Cardstock – Black, cut to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and a small piece for a die cut.
- Cardstock – Yellow-Cream, cut to 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and a small piece for a die cut.
Emboss the A2 yellow-cream cardstock and set aside. Die cut the sentiment paper (black) and it’s background paper (yellow-cream).
Mount the, “You’re so chill” sentiment on the acrylic block, ink in Picket Fence. Stamp in the center of the black die cut. Trace with Uni-Ball Signo Gold pen. Glue black die cut to yellow-cream die cut and set aside.
Mount the bicycle stamp onto an acrylic mount. With a brush add some yellow-cream gouache to the lid of a set box or other palette. Brush gouache onto the bike and stamp it in the center of the black cardstock panel. While drying stamp just the bicycle basket on a piece of masking paper. Cut out the basket and apply over the stamped basket on the black cardstock. Brush yellow-cream gouache onto the Mini Dog Stamp and stamp over the mask, making the dog pop out of the basket.
Brush the Mini Triple Flower and stamp it along the border of the card. You can stamp the image twice before reapplying gouache to get a variation in application. Add some green gouache to your palette (you may have to combine greens to get a color you like) and brush onto the Tiny Ivy Leaf. Stamp the leaf, rotating the stems toward the flowers. Reapply gouache each time you stamp the leaf. Add some pale blue gouache to the palette and brush onto the Mini Solid Vine and stamp it, rotating the stem toward the flowers. Brush the Tiny Dragonfly with yellow-cream gouache and stamp three times.
Add some violet and bright blue gouache to the palette and with a small brush begin to color in the flowers. Using the same bright blue gouache, color the bicycle and color the bike seat with red gouache. Using brown and yellow-cream gouache, color the basket. With a mix of white, black, and yellow-cream gouache, color in the dog and add the eyes back with black gouache. The bike tires can also be colored with black. Color the grass under the bike with green gouache.
Using a ruler as a guide, paint a thin edge of yellow-cream gouache along the perimeter of the card.
Glue the painted panel to the embossed panel. Wrap ribbon around the card with the bottom edge just above the painted panel. Adhere to the back with tape. Glue the sentiment on top of the ribbon, so the edge of the sentiment die cut, although covering the bottom part of the painted panel, lands where it ends.
Make an envelope out of an 8″ x 8′ piece of black cardstock using the Scorpal and Scor-Envi. Decorate the flap the same way we decorated the card.
