The first thing that we will do is prepare our paper. We need an A2 base in white cardstock. So, to make the base cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock in the middle at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side. Then take one of those pieces and place on a paper scoring board and score in the middle on the long edge at 4-1/4″. Now, you have a base!

For the other cuts you’ll need:

  • Cardstock – White, 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ 2 of these
  • Cardstock Green – 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and a 5-1/2″ scrap
  • Cardstock – Slate Blue, enough for three sentiment die cuts

Using the matting die’s first and third largest dies cut out 2 green frames. Place one of the frames on the card base (there will be about an 1/8-inch border around the frame when you lay it on the base.) and trace around the inside.

Stamp the Mini Poppy in Barn Door ink about four times, stamping them toward the top. Clean and stamp the Mini Poppy again in Picked Raspberry ink about three times.

Stamp the Tiny Happy Little Flower in Faded Jeans ink near and in between the the poppies. Using the green colored pencils draw stems on all the poppies.

Stamp the Tiny Two Sides Lead in Peeled Paint ink along the stems. Stamp the Mini Lily of the Valley across the bottom of the flower stems in Peeled Paint ink several times without re-inking for a variation in color.

Using the, “Hello” die, cut out three sentiments and glue all three together.

With the scrap of green cardstock and a pair of scissors or a paper trimmer, slice the paper almost to the bottom, but not all the way through to create a bunch of stems (which kind of look like grass). Make some slices wider and others narrower. The narrow ones will curl and this can be used to give bounce to the flowers. Once you have quite a few, cut off a section freeing them entirely from the rest.

Flip one of the green frames over so the good side is on the table. Run a strip of double-sided tape along the upper part of the bottom frame just within the frame (you don’t go edge to edge). Remove the tape’s backing and start attaching the stems. Mix and match the curly ones and straight ones and crisscross them too!

On a piece of white cardstock stamp the Mini Poppy in Picked Raspberry 5 times and 3 times in Barn Door and cut out each flower.

Apply a small amount of glue to the back of each flower and adhere (back of flower facing you) to the stems. Place them here and there to create randomness.

Apply glue to one of the other frames and adhere to the frame that you’ve been working on, sandwiching the flower stems between the two. Apply foam tape along the frame, still with the flowers facing down, remove the backing and carefully place on the card base.  Remember, you have about 1/8 border.

Now, move your flowers around to get them how you want them.

Apply glue to the lower section of the back of the hello die cut and adhere to the green frame.

Squeeze black Nuvo Drops in the center of some of the poppies.

For the envelope, stamp a grouping of poppies, flowers, stems (drawn in), and leaves on the front left just as you did for the card, you can even add Nuvo Drops!
