Instructions

The first thing that we will do is prepare our paper. We need an A2 base
in golden yellow cardstock. So, to make the base cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of
cardstock in the middle at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side. Then take
one of those pieces and place on a paper scoring board and score in the
middle on the long edge at 4-1/4″. Now, you have a base!

For the other cuts you’ll need:

  • Cardstock – White, cut to 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ – you’ll need 2 of these
  • Cardstock – Golden Yellow you’ll need a scrap piece for die cutting

First, emboss the front flap of the golden yellow card base with your favorite embossing folder, in this case I’m using a flourish pattern. Next, emboss on of the white cardstock panels with another of your favorite folders, I’m using a dots pattern.

On the other piece of white cardstock trace the fourth from the largest die up nearer to the top as we will use the bottom of the panel for more stamping.

Stamp the Tiny Solid Flower in purple ink, stamp three times before re-inking for a variation in color. I’m stamping at the north, south, east and west points of the oval and I’m stamping a bit outside the trace lines of the oval.

Stamp the Tiny Leaf in the darker green ink, rotating the stems toward the flowers. Stamp the Tiny Floral Cluster in pink ink. Stamp the Tiny Leaf again in light green ink, filling in any white areas between the previously stamped images. Stamp the Tiny Sprig in brown ink, rotating the stem toward the flowers.

Place the die that you traced back on the tracing lines and adhere with Purple Tape to the outside of the die and set aside.

Place the second largest oval die on top of the scrap piece of golden yellow cardstock and adhere with purple tape to the outside. Place the largest die on the embossed card base and adhere in place with purple tape on the inside of the die.

Run all the panels through the die cutting machine.

Place a scrap of white cardstock inside of the card where it shows through the oval you cut out on the front. Using a stylus trace along the edge of the oval. Ink the stamp in the darker green and using the StampRight Placement Line, stamp with the stem toward the embossed tracing of the oval and then stamp on the opposite side, stamping the stems touching each other. Do that all along the embossed line. Now, stamp the Tiny Solid Flower in purple three times without re-inking in groups of three. You’ll need three groups.

Fussy cut the three groups of the solid flower as well as the half oval leaf stamping. Stamp in lighter ink the Tiny Leaf Stamp in light green to fill in the negative space.

Create a small spray by stamping the Tiny Leaf again in the darker green ink three times, then stamp again with the light green ink two times and the Tiny Sprig in brown ink three times and then the Tiny Floral Cluster in pink ink. Finally, stamp the Mini Butterfly in brown ink in the center of the floral spray. Color in the butterfly with a yellow-orange pencil. Fussy cut out this stamping.

Now, let’s put it all together! Glue the white embossed card panel to the inside flap of the card base by squeezing glue to the opened card base front and laying the dots toward the oval opening so you can see the dots through the oval cut-out.  Glue the stamped oval to the golden oval and glue that to that the center of the card base. Glue the half-oval fussy cut leaf spray to the bottom of the oval and glue the flower pieces on the leaf cutout wherever you think it will look best.

With a makeup brush spread green ink in the center of the oval stamping to give it a bit more contrast. Add foam tape to the butterfly stamping panel and adhere to the card.

For the envelope, pick a corner, I chose the left corner of the front of the card and just stamp it the same way we did the card in the same colors and add the Butterfly wherever it looks good and be sure to color it.
